The sixth full-length novel in the critically acclaimed series from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Alyssa Day . . .
Poseidon’s warriors have learned that the battle to protect humanity produces unexpected enemies--and alliances. And one of the most powerful of all Atlantean warriors will soon find both…in one daring beauty.
A warrior’s mission, a woman’s desire…
What could Christophe, powerful Warrior of Poseidon, have in common with Fiona Campbell, prim and proper Scottish illustrator of fairytales by day and notorious jewel thief known as the Scarlet Ninja by night? Answer The Siren, a legendary Crown Jewel that Fiona has targeted for her next heist. It’s said to be worth millions, but to Christophe it’s invaluable. For the Siren also happens to be one of the missing jewels from Poseidon’s trident.
And the unnatural evil that could destroy them both.
But breaking into the Tower of London is a two-person job, so Christophe and Fiona team up to commit the crime of the century. As newfound passions fire their motives--and cloud their judgment--they realize they aren’t the only ones after the priceless gem. A dark force is shadowing their every move, and threatening to shatter their trust with revenge, betrayal, and a haunting revelation about the past.

Ven has a problem, he hates witches. Of course he's chosen to make allies with a coven. When he meets his beloved Erin, witch, gem-singer, holder of the Wildling, he knows he's in for a wild ride. Almost immediately, the soul meld begins, between singing gems, crisis back home, and a psycho tyrant turned vampire, this book is a great read.We see the fall of Caligula in real time, and I must say, I wish it were harsher. Between losses of family, new powers, and fighting the overwhelming odds, we know for sure that there's no stopping the Atlanteans.
I absolutely love this series so far. Usually, a reader gets worried that a series will get formulaic. Especially when it isn't based on One character, but on the idea of couples getting together in each book. But I doubt that it will be an issue with this series. With the over-arching goal of uniting the trident, and raising Atlantis; we have a set form of Antagonists and history to go against. It keeps the series in track, while allowing for a lot of freedom in the characters chosen and their behavior.
I can't wait for more.

An author's true talent comes through in not what is being written, but how. Are there subplots generated throughout the book, and does everything comes together in the end? Details are also important...a simple look, the arch of an eyebrow, etc. can make all the difference to the moment. Especially when building a surrounding scene. Can you see the colors, feel the breeze...experience the heat in a moment of passion? Alyssa Day is such an author. You forget your reading as the scenes come to life.
Review
Alyssa Day's, Atlantis Betrayed is full of bombshells. Beginning with the surprising circumstances Christophe and Fiona meet under, and the motivation behind their working together. They continue to drop throughout the book, each one exposing another interesting twist as the intrigue surrounding the priceless gem know as the Siren becomes more apparent.
Her very clever interaction of the secondary characters is instrumental to the story. As sarcastically witty dialogue is tossed back and forth, she uses this mischievous bantering to defuse the sometimes precarious tension between them.
Using the legend of the lost city Atlantis as the backdrop, and its resurfacing taking place on the eve of humanity's destruction is ingenious. Why? Well the legend it's self "...that after the people of Atlantis became so corrupt and greedy, the gods decided to destroy them. A violent earthquake shook the land, giant waves rolled over the shores, and the island sank into the sea, never to be seen again" (Lee Krystek, 2006). Sounds eerily close to what is happening around the world now. Interesting? The debate is still being waged today whether Atlantis was just a fable created by Plato to make a point, or if there is some reason to think he was referring to a real place.
Fiction or fact who knows who cares? Alyssa Day takes just enough of the legend behind Atlantis, and with just the right spins makes it seem conceivable of its existence and the possibility that in the midst of its return will bring with it those luscious sexy dangerous men, the Poseidon Warriors. Just makes your mouth water thinking about it doesn't it???? Her version of this tale is as enchanting as the fairy tales that the heroine of the story writes, and as vivid as the illustrations she paints...(mmm). J
I for one can never get enough stories like these, where the good guys always win, and the splendors are endless, and of course it goes without mention; the smokin' hot sex scenes with dreamy lick-a-lious alpha studs steaming up the pages don't hurt the fantasy either! (I guess it did need mentioning) J
I enjoy the Atlantis series by Alyssa Day and have read all the books to this point, however it was not among my favorite series. More of a secondary series I followed when my favorites where in between installments. After this particular story, I may need to re-evaluate that. I really enjoyed Atlantis Betrayed, more than any of the other books so far in the series.
Christophe had a tortured past which has made him somewhat anti-social, in a snarky, sarcastic, antagonistic sort of way. Fiona also had a tortured past. The difference is that while Christophe held grudges against the world and only reluctantly helped make things better due to his position as a warrior of Poseidon, Fiona took it upon herself to make a difference no matter how she had to go about it. She believes that she can, should, and will make a difference. When the two of them get together, sparks fly almost from the start. One thing I particularly appreciated about Christophe was that although he was scared to death of falling in love and trusting Fiona, he did not fight it. Scared as he was, he accepted what was happening gradually but surely. The fact that Christophe was sexy, funny, and adorably alpha male yet still able curve his caveman instincts in order to respect Fiona's wishes was icing on the cake.
The plot moves very quickly and I highly suggest reading the previous installments of this series in order to understand this story. This is definitely not a stand alone novel. While there are some parts to the story and characters that could have been developed further, those are really minor issues. The book is definitely an entertaining read and if Ms. Day continues the series with more books like this one things are definitely looking up. Don't get me wrong. The other books in the series are good. It's just that there was something about this one that made it stand out. I will keep an eye out for the next installment in the series about the vampire hero Daniel and hope we get Denal's story soon.
In book two of The Warriors of Poisdeon series we find Ven in Washington State investigating a new influx of vampire conversion when he is suppose to meet the leader of the New Light Coven who turns out to be Erin. Erin has her own reasons to end the rein of the Roman Emperior. Ven wants his woman brainless and forgettable. His soul longs for Erin a warrior Gem Singer. Wonderful read with love and action and more than a few laughs. This continuation of the Warriors of Posideon leaves you at the edge of your seat and as you see how the life of the warriors unfolds.
